New York’s expanded production tax credits along with new stages in the Bronx helped Silvercup Studios take on the second season of ABC’s FBI-themed show “Quantico”. According to website KFTV, producers are scheduled to spend nearly $70 million in New York over the course of the 22-episode second season shoot. The show’s first season was set in Montreal, while the pilot was shot in Atlanta.
Joshua Safran, exec producer on the series, noted that the show’s relocation for its second season was the latest evidence that “Hollywood is no longer the irresistible magnet it had long been for the entertainment industry’s talent”. Mayor’s Office officials said that 46 episodic shows (including ‘net series) were now produced in the city, compared to 29 a year ago. Read more in this New York Times article.
